Susan Holzschuh Obituary

Susan Woods Holzschuh, 66, of Boca Raton, FL passed away on May 30, 2020, after 10 years of battling ovarian cancer.

Susan was born on March 20, 1954, in Chicago, IL. She grew up in Addison, IL, where she attended St. Joseph grammar school and graduated from Addison Trail HS in 1972. She then earned an AS and a BS degree in computer science and worked at Bell Laboratories where she met her husband Tom. They married in 1982 and moved to Texas and then Florida while working for various telecommunications companies.

After having her first son she went back to Florida Atlantic University and completed her MS in computer science and did web design and computer consulting after her second son was born. She was a soprano in various singing groups that performed at nursing and assisted living homes as well as in the Delray Beach Chorale. She also served as a scout leader for her son.

Susan was predeceased by her parents, Patrick and Marion Woods, and her beloved sister, Eileen Woods. She is survived by her husband Tom Holzschuh and her two sons Eric and Brian Holzschuh, brothers Patrick Woods and Robert Woods, nephews Steve Essig, Gregory Woods, and Matthew Woods, and niece Christine Woods Ellsworth and numerous cousins.
