Philip “Phil” Francis Rizzuto, Jr., age 64, of Deerfield Beach, Florida passed away December 7, 2020 in Boca Raton, Florida. Phil was the son of New York Yankee Hall of fame shortstop, Phil Rizzuto, and Cora Anne Esselborn Rizzuto.
Phil was born in Newark, New Jersey and grew up in Hillside, New Jersey. He was an alumnus of The Delbarton School in Morristown, N.J. and the University of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C., he played baseball for both schools. He remained a loyal and enthusiastic Gamecock supporter throughout his life. Phil volunteered and took great pride in coaching his daughter for many years in soccer and softball. He was also a New York Yankee lifetime fan.
Phil will be lovingly missed by his wife, Ann of 38 years, his daughter Margaret, his sister, Penelope (Allan) Yetto, his sister and brother in law, Laurie and Richard Chapman, his nephew and nieces, Sanders Chapman, Jennifer Rizzuto, and Caroline Chapman, and his 2 great nieces. Phil was predeceased by his parents and his sisters Patricia and Cynthia Rizzuto.
A celebration of life mass will be conducted at St. Jude Catholic Church, Boca Raton, Florida on April 17, 2021. Phil was a lover of animals his whole life and In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the animal rescues below.
