Olga Esther Powell
Lovingly known as Olgita and Nana. A true queen, born on March 5th 1925 at home in Havana, Cuba to parents Nellie and Jose Jesus, and sister Odilia. With a heart of gold, Olgita was a beacon of elegant beauty even winning Ms. Cuba at the age of 18.
Olgita moved to Miami to live with her Grandfather Arthur. After meeting the love of her life, she married Ernest L Powell just 3 months later. They were able to celebrate 51 wonderfully love filled years together before he passed. Olgita was a devoted mother to her two daughters, Linda and Diana. A gifted seamstress, she sewed their clothes and loved having them match. Throughout life her passion for music and dance was inspiring and created a lifelong legacy.
Olgita cherished the bonds forged over generations and nurtured a deep sense of love and unity within her family. Daughters; Linda Powell Lipsick and Diana Powell Dunham. Son in laws; Glenn Dunham and David Lipsick. Grandchildren; Michael Powell, Heather Powell, Leon Lipsick,
Ashley Lipsick and Robert Lipsick. Great-Grandchildren; Liam Lipsick and Adrianna Lipsick. As a Mommy, Nana, and GG-Nana her wisdom and guidance will continue to shape and inspire her descendants for years to come.
A social butterfly, Olgita had the ability to strike up conversation with anyone she met and create long lasting friendships. She taught us the value of kindness and the power of love. In her 98 years of life, she brought boundless joy to the lives of anyone blessed to know her and will forever be dancing in the memories of those she loved and who loved her in return.
