Michael Mockler Obituary

In Loving Memory of Michael Mockler

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Mockler, age 82, of Deerfield Beach, FL, who departed this world peacefully on September 16, 2023, with his devoted son and daughter at his side. Born in Bridgeport, CT to the loving parents, Willian and Ada nee McGovern, Michael leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Michael is survived by his daughter Maureen Mockler, his son Matthew Mockler, his sister Maryann Young, and his brothers Victor (Roberta) Mockler and Billy (Evone) Mockler. He was also a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Michael was predeceased by his cherished wife, Marie, who undoubtedly awaited his arrival in heaven with open arms.

Michael's journey began in Bridgeport, CT, and he excelled as a star athlete during his high school years, making a name for himself in football, baseball, and basketball. He proudly graduated from Milford High as a member of the Class of 1959. His passion for sports never waned, and he continued to support his favorite teams, including the NY Giants, NY Yankees, and Notre Dame, alongside his friends at the American Legion Post #162 in Deerfield Beach, FL, where he was a devoted member. Saturday Bingo nights were a source of great joy for Michael and his Legion friends.

After high school, Michael embarked on a 35-year career with Allied Signal, where he displayed dedication and commitment. His work ethic was unwavering, reflecting his genuine character and strength of character.

Above all, Michael will be remembered as a loving father who cherished his children and a cherished friend to many. His warm smile, friendly demeanor, and generosity left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He possessed a remarkable ability to brighten any room with his presence and always lent a listening ear and a helping hand to those in need.

As we mourn the loss of this remarkable man, we find solace in knowing that Michael is now reunited with his beloved wife, Marie, in the eternal embrace of heaven. Their love story continues in the afterlife, and their spirits will forever watch over their family and loved ones.

Michael Mockler's memory will live on in our hearts, and he will never be forgotten. Until the day we reunite as a family, we hold onto the cherished moments, the laughter, and the love we shared. May Michael rest in peace, surrounded by the warmth of eternal love.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Legion Post #162 in Deerfield Beach, FL, in Michael's honor.

Forever loved, forever missed, and forever in our hearts.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held 11am, Monday, October 2, 2023 where he will be placed to rest with his wife.
