Mary Ann Frances Petipren, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and retired Unity Minister, departed this world on September 25, 2023, at the age of 78. She was born on September 12, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, to John and Virginia Leszczynski. Mary Ann will forever be cherished for her unwavering free spirit, her deep love for her family, and her profound connection with people and her cherished feline companion, Dudley.
Mary Ann's life was a testament to her dedication to serving others and spreading love and compassion. Her calling as a Unity Minister allowed her to touch the lives of countless individuals, providing them with guidance, solace, and a sense of belonging. She embodied the principles of unity, tolerance, and inclusivity, making her a source of inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Mary Ann's joyous spirit extended beyond her work, as she had an unparalleled zest for life. She possessed an infectious enthusiasm for meeting new people, learning from their experiences, and forging meaningful connections. Mary Ann was also a devoted mother, survived by her loving daughters, Dianne (Wayne) Schmidt and Suzanne (Charles) Bauchner. Her dedication to her children and her unwavering support were a testament to her love and commitment as a mother. She cherished every moment spent with her family and took immense pride in watching her daughters grow into exceptional individuals.
In addition to her daughters, Mary Ann leaves behind her brothers and sisters, Greg, Michael, Dolores, and Susan, who will carry forward the cherished memories they created together. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Nicole and Jessica, and great-grandchildren, Noelle and Shilah, who will forever be inspired by her love and wisdom.
A memorial service to celebrate Mary Ann's remarkable life will be held in the near future, allowing friends and family to come together and share their stories and fond memories. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in memory of Mary Ann Petipren to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
