John Jerome Furtado, 79, formally of Hollywood, FL current resident of Port St. Lucie for sixteen years passed away suddenly on April 6, 2020 leaving so many memories of love.
John Jerome Furtado was born February 9, 1941 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. John Jerome Furtado served in the United States Coast Guard for several years and he always had a great passion for music in which he played the drums for a band for a many years.
John met love of his love Linda Lee Furtado and the they happily married for thirty nine years with three beautiful daughters.
John worked hard his entire life to provide for his family and always giving unselfishly to others. John became a school teacher with the School Board of Broward County, then he became a Veteran’s Service Administrator until his retirement. His hobbies included playing the drums, listing to music, singing in the car, his favorite T.V shows, his love for McDonald's, his family, his dogs, and friends he made throughout his life time. His personality and charismatic ways always made him so very full of life . He made friends so easily. John was a son, husband, father, mentor, and everyone’s dad .
John Furtado is predeceased in death by his loving wife Linda Furtado, beautiful daughter Dawn Furtado, and loved parents John and Marie Furtado. John Furtado is survived by daughters Lisa and Tracy Furtado, granddaughter’s Kelsey Rancourt and Skylar Furtado, cherished sister Cris Eddy of Massachusetts and several cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Family will receive friends Monday, May 11, 2020, 11:30 am to 12:30 pm with a 12:30 pm service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the South Florida National Cemetery.
