Elizabeth "Betty" J (Jupin) Tkatch

Elizabeth Joanna Thatch passed away on October 25, 2022 at the age of 95, just two weeks shy of her 96th birthday. Elizabeth, better known a Betty, was born November 10, 1926 to Andrew and Elizabeth Jupin in Clairton, Pennsylvania. She was the youngest of her six siblings, all of whom preceded her in death. Betty was very proud of her Hungarian heritage. She was an excellent pastry chef and often gave away her delicious creations to neighbors and friends. In her younger days, she worked as a telephone operator and later as an executive secretary to a judge in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Betty was an exceptional typist.

After WWII, Betty married her sweetheart, Joseph Tkatch, and would eventually celebrate 73 years of marriage and three children. They first met while roller skating which was a very much loved pass-time in the 1940’s. Betty and Joseph were the perfect skating couple. They looked so much in love as they graced the floor with their romantic waltzes.

Betty leaves behind her daughters; Diane Walewski of Boca Raton, FL, Donna Czerniewski of Townsend, TN, and son, David Tkatch of Harrisburg, PA. She had nine grandchildren and six great-grandchilden. Betty will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, Joseph, in the South Florida VA National Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL.

Family will receive friends Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022, 9-10:30am at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022, 11am at St. Joan Catholic Church, Boca Raton. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Friday, Nov. 4, 2022, 1:30pm at the South Florida VA National Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL.
