Obituary

Daniel Mejia, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on April 27th, 2023, at the age of 96. He was surrounded by his wife, Elena, and children, Maria, Daniel, and Percy, whom he loved dearly.

Daniel was born in Lima, Peru, and met his beloved wife, Elena, there. They built a life together and raised their family with love and care. Daniel was a passionate person and loved to play soccer, a hobby he enjoyed throughout his life. He was a strong and fearless soul who crossed the ocean to America to provide his family with opportunities for a better life.

Daniel was a caring brother, a devoted father to his three children, and a grandfather to many. He was always there for his family and took care of them with his hard work, words of wisdom, and reliability. Daniel's positivity and gentle laugh brought joy to those around him, and his signature navy blue Yankees baseball hat will always be remembered.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Elena of 63 years, his loving children Daniel (Carmen), Maria (Paul), Percy and grandchildren, Carolina, Kimberly, Byron, Christopher, Katherine, Nicolette, and his brother Ricardo Flores Guerrero who will forever cherish the loving memories they shared with him. His family and friends will continue to spread the joyful memories they have of him, keeping his memory alive.

A celebration and remembrance of Daniel's life will be held on Friday, May 5th, 9:30 a.m. St Ambrose Catholic Church, Deerfield Beach, FL. Daniel will always be remembered for his passion for soccer, his love for his family, and his positive spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
