Charles J. Salvo “Chuck,” 74, of Boca Raton, FL, passed away peacefully after a short illness on May 18, 2023. Chuck was born and raised in Stoneham, MA. He graduated from Tufts University with a B.S. in physics, and afterwards moved to Florida to study at the University of Miami, where he received a M.S. in mathematics. He settled into a highly successful career as a software engineer and has been a South Florida resident ever since.
One of Chuck’s passions was philosophy, and in fact he created a philosophical community, Gornahoor, that connected members from across the world to explore and discuss esoteric philosophies. Chuck had a bright mind, and had a knack of being able to see things from many sides, often finding a side unnoticeable to others. He enjoyed making people laugh with his wry sense of humor. Chuck always looked out for his family and would do anything in his power to help them. He will always be remembered for his brave and caring heart.
Chuck was preceded in death by his loving parents, Chuck and Vera Salvo. He is survived by his beloved sons, Joel Salvo and his wife Lyndsay, and Dan Salvo, his sister Sandie Taylor and her husband Bob, and his grandchildren, Cole and Stella Salvo. He was a beloved uncle to Lainie Rahe and her husband Cameron, Emily Sessions and her husband Jeff, and Jillian Taylor. He was also a fun great-uncle to seven great nieces and nephews, Zach, Dominick, Jocelyn, Vincent, Natalie, Tanny, and Sebby.
Services will be held on Friday, July 7th at 11:00am at the Boca Raton Cemetery and Mausoleum (Remembrance Chapel). 451 SW 4th Ave., Boca Raton, FL 33432
