Bruce Henry Bernasek

Bruce Bernasek, 75, of Boca Raton, Florida, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 22, 2019, at Trustbridge Hospice in Boca Raton.

Born June 20, 1944, in Oak Park, Illinois, Bruce later attended and graduated from AA Morton Community College in Cicero, Illinois, with a degree in Electronic Technology and then studied Electrical Engineering at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. Siemens Corporation recruited Bruce to work as a Systems Engineer in Telephony in its Boca Raton facility, resulting in Bruce relocating with his family to Boca Raton in 1980.

Bruce retired from Siemens in 1999. He developed advanced computer and other technical skills and loved photography and videography. He kept busy video recording special events, such as weddings, graduations, birthdays, church dedications, baptisms, etc.

In 1996, he met Vivian Gilliland at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Boca Raton. They were baptized on October 13, 1996 and became active, committed church members in November 1996. They later married on October 11, 2003, and resided in Boca Raton at the time of Bruce's homegoing. Bruce enthusiastically used his God-given gifts to help the church with its audio/visual/technical needs and video recorded many weddings and baptisms of his brothers and sisters in Christ.

Bruce will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Vivian; his stepmother, Audrey Bernasek; daughter, Beth Sciacchitano and husband Frank, sons Brian and Brad; his sister Linda Nestroy; and a nephew, two nieces, a grandniece and four grandnephews. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Raymond, and mother, Irene.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019, 11:00am at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 5391 Johnson Road; Coconut Creek, FL 33073. A light lunch will be served after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church in his memory with a note that it's for PFP Int'l-Myanmar.
