Barbara Tookoian Obituary
Barbara “Barb” Tookoian, 85, of Boca Raton, Florida passed away peacefully at Hospice by the Sea on Wednesday, September 1, 2021.
Born on April 10, 1936 in Dearborn, Michigan. She lived in Los Angeles, California for several years and then returned to Detroit and Bloomfield Hills, Michigan until she retired to her home in Boca Raton, Florida.
Barbara had a long and successful career in the insurance industry and was an active member of the Insurance Women of Michigan Association throughout her career. She was an avid reader, golfer, passionate fan of all Detroit sports teams and patron of the arts. She was also an active member of the Ascension Catholic Church.
Barb is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sam and sister, Betty Ludwig (Brawner). She is survived by many adoring nieces and nephews, family across the country and friends who became her family. She had a grand life and loved to watch classic movies and share her stories of her and Sam’s many life exploits and adventures. She will be remembered for her strong presence and enduring love and support.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 6, 2021. A pre-memorial visitation time is scheduled from 2:00 – 3:00 PM EDT, followed directly with the funeral service at 3:00 PM and a reception with light refreshments following the service. The service will also be available via the livestream link.
