William "Bill" Hermes passed away on Saturday, May 12th at the age of 83 years in Boca Raton, Florida.

Bill was Born in Detroit, Michigan on February 23rd, 1929, son of John and Elizabeth Hermes. He was married to Lavona Lee Frasier on August 4th, 1951 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Detroit. He served his country in the 127th Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron in Ft. Williams, Maine.

Bill settled in St. Clair Shores, Michigan and together with Lee raised their family. He loved his summers and many friends in Lexington, Michigan and summered there for many years long after they relocated to Boca Raton, Florida in 1979. They were active members at Affirmation Lutheran Church in Boca Raton, and later at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church also in Boca Raton.

Bill is survived by his dear wife Lee, his daughter Susan (David) Patrona of Boynton Beach, Florida and his son William (Cindy) Hermes of St. Clair Shores, Michigan. Also surviving are 5 grandsons and 2 great grandchildren, and brothers Jack of North Street, Michigan and Robert of Grand Haven, Michigan.

Bill will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather and as a kind and good man who was always willing to help others. In lieu of any flowers, donations in his memory can be sent to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 6301 S.W. 18th Street, Boca Raton, Florida where a service will be held in his memory on Saturday, June 2nd at 11:30 a.m.
