Biography
Dr. William T. Hall, 88, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2011 at the Homewood Residence in Boynton Beach, Florida. He was born September 18, 1922 in Williamstown, Pennsylvania.
His parents were William Thomas Hall and Irene Rose Batdorf.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Delores Jean Hall of Boynton Beach, FL, his two sons, Tom Hall and his wife, Blanca of Indio, California and Greg Hall and his wife, Terri of Pittsburgh, PA, and his sister, Julia O'Brien of Cheyenne, WY. He is also survived by 4 granddaughters, 5 step-grandsons and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by one son, Jim Hall and his surviving wife, Cheri of Missoula, Montana. Also, is predeceased by two sisters, Mary Noel and Rose Lentz, and one brother, Jack Hall. He was a WWII Veteran and served in the 1573rd Army Engineer Group. Mr. Hall earned degrees from the U. of Denver, and a PhD from the U. of Minnesota. He retired in 1985 as Professor Emeritus after 20 years in the School of Public Health and Social work at the U. of Pittsburgh. He was a strong supporter of public education. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Boynton Beach, Wednesday March 2 at 10am.
