IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Vera
Sciacchitano
March 1, 1939 – January 20, 2024
Vera Sciacchitano (Napolitano) passed away peacefully after a brief illness on January 20, 2024, in Delray Beach, Florida, surrounded by her beloved children and family, Frank, Beth, Carlo, Lisa, and Margherita.
Vera was born on March 1, 1939, in Tripoli, an Italian colony in Africa, the fifth child of Margherita and Pietro Napolitano, who hailed from Modica, Sicily. Raised in a busy household alongside her siblings Pasqualino, Giovanna, Concetta, Giorgio, Nella, Vincenzo, and Anna. Vera's upbringing was steeped in familial love and tradition. Her memories lived on in the hearts of those she cherished.
After the war, Vera's family returned to Italy. In pursuit of new horizons, Vera embarked on a journey to the United States in 1963, settling in Paterson, NJ. It was here that she met and married Joseph Sciacchitano, with whom she shared nearly four decades of love and devotion. Together, Vera and Joseph welcomed three beautiful children into the world: Frank, Carlo, and Margherita. Their family's journey led them to the warmth of South Florida, where weekends were filled with the laughter and camaraderie of extended family gatherings. A dedicated mother, Vera balanced the roles of caregiver and provider, working tirelessly to support her family while instilling in her children the values of hard work, compassion, and faith.
She taught her children to be caring, to be humble, to love unconditionally, to give of their time, to love the Lord, to be generous, to put family first, and to be patient. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Being a mom was who she was. She was loved by her children very much.
Throughout her life, Vera's spirit of adventure never waned. Whether traversing the globe with her children, reveling in the company of cherished friends and family, Vera approached each new experience with boundless energy and an infectious smile.
Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends, who will forever cherish the memories they shared and the lessons she imparted. Vera's unwavering love, kindness, and devotion serve as a guiding light for generations to come, a testament to the enduring impact of a life well-lived.
Though Vera may have left this world, her spirit lives on in the love she shared and the lives she touched. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
