Thomas (Gaetano) Liquori, 82, of Agawam, MA passed away peacefully on January 7, 2016, in the care and comfort of Manor Care of Boca Raton, FL and his loving wife. A lifelong resident of Agawam, MA, he was born to the late Florence R. (Bonavita) Liquori and Fiore Liquori. He spent his childhood working on the family farm and in later years, worked as a self-employed excavator and building contractor and President of Nu-Way Builders. As well as being a home-builder, he also owned the Corner Package Store in Agawam. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. His passion was horse racing, spending time at the track trying to beat the odds. He was a former member of the Mawaga Fish & Game Club, Italian Sportsman Club, Columbus Club, and Agawam Chamber of Commerce. He was instrumental in the building of Rte. 57, Channel 22, the Perry Lane Park pool, all of Agawam, and also worked for Tennessee Gas Pipeline and the Town of Longmeadow. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Mary Patricia Blanchard, who cared for him through the various stages of Alzheimer's disease. He enjoyed many years of relaxation after retiring in Boca Raton, FL. He leaves his beloved children, Darlene (Pokora) Lenza and her husband Bernadino Lenza, his son Fiore Liquori and his partner Jessica Merrill, and his son Joseph Liquori and his fiance Lisa Thipodeau. He also leaves his loving grandchildren whom he was so proud of and cherished, Anthony Waite, Dr. Jessica Pokora, Nicholas Pokora, Jake Liquori, and great-granddaughter, Maisy Pokora. He also leaves his brother Anthony Liquori and his wife Irene. He was pre-deceased by his sister Mamie Nostin and brother John Liquori, as well as many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. His family would like to thank the staff at Manor Care for their incredible care and kindness and also for the generous help of Hospice Care of Boca Raton, FL. There will be no funeral services. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations in Thomas' memory may go to the Alzheimer's Association , P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090, or to Trust Bridge Hospice, 5300 East Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33407.
