Obituary

Thomas Mitchell Hay III (Tom), passed on Tuesday, December 3rd surrounded by his loving family.  Tom was born in Minnesota on March 30, 1947, grew up in Ohio, and moved to Boca Raton, FL in 1971.  It is in Florida, where he picked up his love for scuba diving.   He was a proud American and Trump Supporter.  He took pride in being a military family and the fact that he had both children and grandchildren who chose to serve this great country.  He followed his father's foot steps by serving and leading our local Advent Boy Scouts Troop 327 for many years.  He took pride in knowing he had a finger print on the lives of many young men who later obtained the highest rank of Eagle Scout.

Tom was a very successful Electrical Engineer working for MCI which merged with Sony.  No question, he made a huge impact on the music industry with his skills and knowledge designing and building an electrical console used to record music.  He had the pleasure to work with many musicians in his early years.  His family will always cherish the memories he shared with his experiences and opportunities as he traveled the world. This was a significant life achievement. Though, his biggest achievement was his family.  Tom was loved and supported by Lyn Hay(mother of Maria and Teresa), Agnes Hay (mother of Thomas IV, Terence, and John), and his present significant other, Connie.  Ruger, who was Tom and Connie's dog was a huge part of Tom's life and truly fit the meaning of  a "man's best friend" never leaving his side.  Tom is survived by five children and nine grandchildren, whom he was very proud of.  His children, Maria from South Dakota (Scott), Teresa from Minnesota (Eddie), Thomas IV from Titusville (Stephanie), Terence from Titusville, and John presently in Minnesota. His loving grandchildren were Hanna, Scott, John, Elisabeth, Adrianna, Jacob, Tommy V, Abigail, and his youngest Oliver.  Being an only child, his one mission was to have a big family.  He did just that!

Tom's only wish for when he passed, was to celebrate and remember the good times.  He gave his music requests which he would like to be played to set the atmosphere for just that.  We will be celebrating his life this Saturday, December 14th at 6140 N. Federal Highway in Boca Raton, starting at 11:00.  His final resting place will be at the Boca Raton, Mausoleum which will be a private family ceremony.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his name to Coral Restoration Foundation here in Florida.
