Thomas B. Bennett passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the age of 85. His beloved wife of 63 years, Marie, and daughter, Julie Frye predeceased him in 2012, and 1999, respectively. He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Michael Bennett, and Gary and Sandy Bennett, and his daughter and son-in-law, Kristi and Mitch Glidewell; Grandchildren Shawn and Tom Gennara; Thomas Bennett, Kaitlyn Frye, Tyler Tubridy, Jason and Cory Glidewell, Kelly McIntyre, Jillian and Brad Estes, Kristen McIntyre; Great-Grandchildren Samuel Gennara and Nathan Estes; and sister and brother-in-law, Millie and Charles Schick. He had two other sisters, Lorraine Cherwinski and Genevieve Bennett, and a younger brother, John Bennett who predeceased him. Tom worked for over three decades at Skyway Furniture and was well loved by his customers and co-workers, especially John and Jim Hooper, and Jim Boyd with whom he worked for many years. He and his wife, Marie, eventually moved to Port St. Lucie, Florida to be close to their children, where he continued working until retiring at the age of 75. Tom was also a proud veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserves from 1945 – 1952. A kind and gentle Christian man who conveyed so much with just his smile, Tom will be missed greatly by all those who have had the honor and privilege of knowing him. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Friday, August 16, 2013 at Gary Panoch Funeral Home, 6140 N. Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33487. Family will receive friends and family at 1:00 p.m. and a service will follow at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to Susan G. Komen or your local Hospice.
