IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandra Lynn
Kozuch-Thompson
November 21, 1954 – August 31, 2025
Sandy Lynn "Sam" Kozuch-Thompson, 70, passed away on August 31, 2025, in Boca Raton, Florida. Born on November 21, 1954, in Peoria, Illinois, Sandy lived a life marked by adventure, determination, and a deep appreciation for both the natural world and the people she held dear.
From an early age, Sandy embraced life with a spirited sense of independence and curiosity. After graduating high school, she embarked on a cross-country road trip to California—a journey that would shape her identity and forge lifelong friendships.
Returning to Pompano Beach, Florida to be closer to family and pursue her passion for scuba diving, Sandy continued to follow her heart. In 1978, she met the man who would become Pamela's father. Together they moved to Santa Clara, California where Sandy reconnected with her West Coast community and furthered her education. She earned an Associate of Science degree from Mission College before later completing a Bachelor of Science degree at Palm Beach Atlantic College.
Professionally, Sandy built a meaningful career in Human Resources Administration with The Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County and later, as an Executive Administrative Coordinator for the South Florida Regional Transit Association. Her work reflected not only her organizational skill but also her commitment to serving the broader community.
Sandy had a zest for life that extended beyond work and education. She found joy in exploring both land and sea. Her travels across the United States were filled with discovery and connection. She also had a passion for community service with the Florida Jaycees in the 1980s and was known to spend time giving back in ways that mattered deeply to her. A curious mind led her to enjoy programs like Ancient Aliens—always seeking new perspectives and ideas.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Pamela; her sister Linda; half-sisters Georgette, Kim, Laura, and Cheryl; and stepsister Hollie. Her memory is also honored by those who knew her through every chapter of her vibrant life.
Sandy was preceded in death by her father George Kozuch; mother Ethel Mae Bartolmei-Reece; stepfather Ray Glasgow; stepmothers Helen Kozuch and Donna Kozuch; grandparents Olivia and Andrew Celone.
May Sandy's memory bring comfort to those who knew her and continue to inspire others to live boldly, love deeply, and explore freely—just as she did. A Memorial Gathering will be held on November 21, 2025, from 04:30 PM to 07:30 PM at Villas of Boca Barwood Clubhouse 23286 SW 54th Way. Informal gathering for friends, neighbors and family.
