Robert Booth Schonger

Robert “Bob” Booth Schonger, 93, of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2026.

Born on March 28, 1933, in Kingston, New York, Bob proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War before returning home to marry his beloved wife, June. Together, they raised six children and built a life centered on family.

He carried the spirit of Semper Fi always, guided by a strong sense of responsibility, independence, and commitment to those he loved.

Bob spent 30 years with IBM, including time living and working in Stuttgart, Germany, where he and his family created lasting memories. After retiring from IBM, he remained active through his work at Boca West Country Club and enjoyed connecting with friends, spending time with family, and caring for his dog, Coco.

He approached each day with quiet determination, a sharp wit, and a sense of adventure. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, June, and his granddaughter, Alexandra.

He is survived by his six children: Daryl, Gail, Eileen (TJ), Lynn (Richard), Robert (Mimi), and Beth (Robert); his nine grandchildren: Jill, Stephen, Shannon (Bryan), Nicolette (Alex), Natalie, Bobby, Michaella, Matthew, and Julian; and his nine great-grandchildren: Kayden, Taylor, Ella, Emma, Molly, Reece, Oliver, Brixley, and Liam.

A memorial service celebrating Bob's life will be held on Saturday, August 8, at 11:00 a.m. at Boca Raton Mausoleum in Boca Raton, Florida.
