Robert "Bob" Newland, February 15, 1938 – April 8, 2025
Robert Newland, fondly known as Bob, of Boynton Beach, FL passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025. He was 87 years old.
Born in Queens, New York, on February 15, 1938, Robert spent the early years of his life in Glendale and later in Oyster Bay, Long Island. With a vibrant personality and a sharp entrepreneurial spirit, he became a successful restaurateur and antiques dealer, known for his taste, wit, and deep appreciation for craftsmanship and quality.
Later in life, Robert relocated to Boca Raton, and eventually Boynton Beach, Florida, where he shared over 40 cherished years with his beloved life partner, Bob Atha. Together, they built a thriving home maintenance business, earning the trust and admiration of clients and friends across South Florida. Their dedication, warmth, and partnership left a lasting impression on everyone they encountered.
Robert was a man of integrity, charm, and quiet generosity. He valued friendship and family, and found joy in the simple pleasures of life, as well as in the deep bonds he cultivated over the decades.
He is predeceased by his partner Bob Atha, his mother Lillian Newland, his father Charles Newland, and his brother John Newland. He is survived by his godson, Dr. Scott Ippolito, along with cousins, nephews, and a wide circle of dear friends who will miss his presence deeply.
Robert will be cremated at Gary Panoch Funeral Home in Boca Raton, Florida. His remains will be sent to Massapequa Funeral Home in Massapequa Park, New York, and laid to rest in the family plot at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, New York, alongside his parents and brother. A graveside service will be held at the cemetery prior to the burial (date and time to be announced).
In memory of Robert, may we all find inspiration in a life well-lived — filled with love, work done with pride, and enduring friendships.
