Rita E. Azzarello, 97, of Deerfield Beach, FL passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at The Encore at Boca Raton where she resided for almost 6 years due to dementia.  She was born to parents Bertha Peterson and Edward Fitzgerald on January 12, 1925 in Brooklyn, New York and then raised her family on Long Island with her husband, Albert J. Azzarello.

Rita then moved to Deerfield Beach, Florida in 1980. Rita spent her time in Florida enjoying life with her family and loved to cook and share meals with them. She also enjoyed singing in the Choir at St. Ambrose Church.

Despite battling dementia for nearly a decade, Rita brought her smile, laughter and sense of humor and brightened up the day. While her family will miss her dearly, the memories that were shared will be remembered forever.

Rita is survived by her daughter Joanne, son Robert, four grandchildren Chrissy, Lee, Jennifer, Jay and one great grandchild Hudson.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Gary Panoch Funeral Home.
