Paul Douglas Patrick "Doug" 63, of Boca Raton, FL passed away on January 5, 2013 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Doug was born in Ft. Wayne, IN, graduated from Severn High School Saverna Park MD in 1967 and then attended the University of Florida. Doug owned and operated Patrick Florists with his wife in Pompano Beach from 1974-1995. Doug's passion was competing at NHRA Drag Racing events in his blue 1972 Olds W31. He set numerous national records and won many trophies. He and his wife enjoyed traveling extensively in their RV to races all across the US. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Boca Raton. Predeceased by his parents Merrill and Roseanna Patrick and sister Terry Sims. Survived by his wife of 36 years Norma, his beloved children Michael Patrick (Jill), Brian Hodges (Renata), Jena Toledano (Edward), grandchildren Ansley Toledano, Travis Hodges, Lydia Hodges, sister-in-law Elaine Fitzgerald (Jack) and nieces Cheryl and Alexandra Briesemeister. Services will be held at 3pm Wednesday, January 9th at First United Methodist Church of Boca Raton. Memorials can be made to the John Cotton Fund at the church.
