Nancy Shaner McCarthy, 91, born July 21, 1933, in Erie, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on January 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Nancy's husband, Timothy W. McCarthy, joined IBM in 1957, and together they lived in Cleveland, Ohio, Pittsburg Pennsylvania, Poughkeepsie, New York; and Mobile, Alabama, before settling in Boca Raton Florida in 1974. Nancy worked as a dedicated secretary at the Center for Family Services in Boca Raton, where her compassion and professionalism touched many lives. A woman of deep faith, Nancy was an active member of Advent Lutheran Church and later Ascension Catholic Church, finding strength and purpose in her spirituality throughout her life. In 2002, she relocated to Harbourside in Delray Beach, Florida enjoying a vibrant community on the Intracoastal. She enjoyed boating on the "NanSea" for many years with her husband and friends, was an avid bridge player at Harbourside up until her last days and enjoyed many of the social events at Harbourside over the years. She had a close loving family and many friends.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Timothy W. McCarthy; her cherished son, Timothy Shane (2011) and her dear daughter, Lynn McCarthy Pringle (2023.)

Nancy leaves behind a legacy of love through her devoted daughter and caretaker, Karen McCarthy Muccio, and Karen's husband, Michael. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Michael Muccio and his wife Francesca; Megan Partridge and her husband Ryan; Amanda Pringle; and Tony Pringle and his wife Jessica. She was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren: Tatum, Cooper, Ty, Edie, Lena, Connor, Hayley, and AJ, who brought immense joy to her life. Nancy was also survived by many nieces and nephews especially Holly and Rick Simmons, Heidi and Jo Morgan, Bill and Michele Sample and Susan Morgan for their loving care and support over the years .

A funeral service to celebrate Nancy's remarkable life will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Ascension Catholic Church, 7250 N Federal Highway, Boca Raton, Florida.

Nancy will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her deep love for her family, and the warmth and kindness she extended to all who knew her. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished.
