Obituary

Miriam Elena Adames DeJesus, lovingly known as Lucky and Wela, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the age of 77, surrounded by her devoted family.

Born on April 17, 1948, in Spanish Harlem, Manhattan, Miriam later moved with her parents to Boca Raton, Florida, and was a resident of Delray Beach at the time of her passing. In her early years, she worked at Random House and Mitsubishi, but her greatest joy and proudest achievement was being a loving and dedicated mother.

She is survived by her children, Matthew, Tina, and Charisse, along with their spouses, and her six cherished grandchildren. Miriam also leaves behind her siblings Nelly, Joe, and David, eight nieces and nephews, and many extended family members, all of whom adored her deeply.

Miriam's life was a testament to faith, love, and resilience. Her faith was relentless. She loved Jesus and is now with her Lord and Savior. She had a gift for keeping in touch with family and friends, always nurturing those connections with care. She never missed a moment to pour life into us and share a Bible verse or send a card. Miriam made magic of what little she had. She enjoyed her desserts, playing Scrabble, attending Hammock Street Church, and tending to her beloved orchids. She was delighted in life's small adventures, embracing each day with independence and generosity. Miriam gave faithfully to her church and to those in need, leaving a legacy of kindness and devotion.

Her presence was sweet, unforgettable, and a blessing to everyone who knew her. The loss is unbearable.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Hammock Street Church, 22500 Hammock Street, Boca Raton, FL 33428. Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 2 p.m.

In honor of Miriam, flowers may be sent for the service. She especially loved white carnations and lilies.

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."-Rev 21:4
