Michael R. Hut Jr., 85, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026.Born on December 30, 1940, in Bayonne, New Jersey, Michael was the beloved son of the late Michael and Mae (née Stazick) Hut.Michael lived a remarkable life filled with adventure, creativity, faith, and service to others. A man of many talents and interests, he was an accomplished mountaineer, an avid photographer, gifted artist, and talented saxophone player who worked as a studio musician during his younger years. He was formerly employed by Warner Brothers Studios and later enjoyed a successful career as a real estate agent. Michael also dedicated part of his professional life to education, serving as both a teacher and guidance counselor, where he inspired and mentored countless students.His passions extended far beyond his career. Michael was an enthusiastic amateur (ham) radio operator, an avid stamp and coin collector, and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others. He loved the game of hockey, both as a player and as a coach, and devoted many years to mentoring young people as a Boy Scout leader. A faithful Catholic, Michael was a proud Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and lived his faith through service to his church and community. Among his many accomplishments, Michael served as a board member of the Florida Panthers hockey organization, reflecting his lifelong passion for the sport and his commitment to supporting its growth in South Florida.

Although an only child, Michael was blessed with a large extended family and treasured the many friendships he cultivated throughout his life. He is survived by his many beloved cousins including, Carol Small Page, Amy Page Toth, Amber Page Howe, and Jeffrey Hoffmann. He also leaves behind his dear friend Linda Gotzler and dear friend and mentee, Adrane Tuttle whose life was greatly enriched by Michael's wisdom, encouragement, and unwavering friendship.Michael will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, generous heart, keen intellect, and genuine interest in helping others reach their potential. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched with his kindness, mentorship, and enduring enthusiasm for life.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church in Boca Raton, Florida. Interment will immediately follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in North Lauderdale, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Michael's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
