Melvin was a longtime resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, before making South Florida his home 11 years ago. A talented and passionate culinary professional, he graduated from culinary school and built a rewarding career as a chef and meat butcher. He took great pride in his cooking, especially his excellent soul food, and sharing a good meal with family and friends was one of the ways he showed his love.
Melvin had a zest for life and enjoyed dancing, partying, traveling, cooking, and spending time with the people he loved. Outgoing and full of personality, he had a way of making those around him feel welcome and appreciated. He was deeply loyal to his friends, devoted to his family, and always thinking of others. His generous spirit, warm heart, and love for his family will be remembered by all who knew him.
Melvin is survived by his loving children, Jahmal Quann, Ryneir Williams, Nikita Stanley, and Darris Jason Everett; his brothers, Jimmy Stanley, Larry Banks, Chris Stanley, Chuck Stanley, and Daryl Stanley; his sister, Barbara Edwards; 14 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many extended family members and cherished friends who will miss his laughter, friendship, and unmistakable presence.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at CrossBridge Church, 10101 Judge Winikoff Road, Boca Raton, FL 33428.
Melvin lived life with a generous heart, a love for good food, good times, and good people. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched and, most of all, through the family he loved so dearly.
