Mary D. Walsh, 60, of Boca Raton, Florida went to be with her parents, in heaven, on October 22, 2011.
Born in Orange on March 31, 1951, graduated from East Orange Catholic High School , was active in the community and volunteered at the veterans Hospital in East Orange New Jersey for ten years devoting her time to Vietnam Veterans that needed kind words and love. She relocated to Boca Raton in later years. She was a bright and fun soul who enjoyed life. Mary especially loved the beach, her family and her special cat, Tuna.
Mary's best memories of childhood were "at the ocean, the smell of baby oil, blue fish in oven, a small rental vacation home that never seemed crowded. Maybe it was the closeness of the house that is why we had so much fun and it seemed more loving."
Mary was predeceased by her parents, Vincent P. Walsh and Dorothy Boyle Walsh of Toms River, NJ, and her beloved cat, Tuna. She is survived by a brother, Joseph Edward Walsh of Point Pleasant, NJ, a sister, Eleanor Walsh Shima of Fort Myers, Fl. Her sister in law, Laurie Ellen Walsh of Point Pleasant. Her six nieces: Danielle Walsh Androcy, Tiffany Walsh of Brick, and Juliann Walsh of Point Pleasant, NJ., Christine Shima Casais of Bayonne, NJ. Theresa Shima DeMauro of Bayville, NJ. Tara Shima of Florida, one nephew, Andy Shima of Florida. And 11 great nieces and nephews. Her surviving friends are Richard Schneider and Martin and Hannah Tenner.
