Biography

Mary Patricia Nairn Platt of Boca Raton, FL, formerly of Northvale, NJ and Commodore, Pa. Pat was born on Dec 16, 1924, in Maxwell, PA., one of five children. She attended Waynesburg College and worked at Bethlehem Steel during WWII. After raising six children, she worked at Solitron Corporation, then for many years as a substitute teacher in the Northern Valley schools. Pat is survived by her husband, Francis, sisters Anna Ruth Pepper, Laura Jane Winters, brother John Nairn , and sister and brother-in-law Eileen and Les Weinzierl. Pat leaves behind six loving and devoted children and their spouses, Kathy and Bill, Joellen and Tom, Joyce and George, Patty and David, Francis, and Janet and Alan. Her wonderful grandchildren are Michael, Courtney and husband Greg, Brandon and wife Molly, Ashley and husband Nick, Jason and wife Emily, Brittany, Kari and husband Jeff, Candace, Jess, Ryan, Melissa, and Chelsea. Family was everything to Pat and she was also lucky enough to have two great grandchildren, June and James, with another on the way. Her favorite charities were the Special Olympics and the National Down Syndrome Society, so any donations may be sent to either group.
