Obituary

Mark T. Peitz, Sr.

November 14, 1954 – October 3, 2026

Mark T. Peitz, Sr., age 71, of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away on October 3, 2026. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on November 14, 1954, Mr. Peitz was the cherished son of the late Myrtle Garcia and Francis Peitz. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Francis “Bud” Peitz and Harry Peitz. In 1995, Mr. Peitz made Boca Raton his home, where he met and built a life with his loving life partner, Karen Harrington.

A hard-working entrepreneur and dedicated business owner, Mr. Peitz was the proud owner and operator of Miami Environmental & Construction Services. Outside of his professional life, he was a passionate, lifelong sports fan who cheered fiercely for his beloved Florida State Seminoles football team.

Above all, Mr. Peitz was devoted to his family. His memory will be kept alive by his loving partner, Karen Harrington; his children, Antionette Peitz of Pittsburgh, PA, and Mark Peitz, Jr. (Turquoise) of Margate, FL; and his bonus children, Jeff Harrington, Ashley Houlis (Anthony), and Lindsey Colyer, all of Florida.

He was the proud grandfather of Stephen Piskurich, Samantha Piskurich, Gianny Peitz, and Marciano Peitz, as well as his bonus grandchildren, Harlow, Phoenix, Wilder, and Navy. He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Aubrey Piskurich and Theodore Wassell.

Mr. Peitz will be remembered for his dedication to his family, sports, his strong entrepreneurial spirit, patented intelligence and a strong work ethic. Mr. Peitz’s zest for life was magnetizing in every way and he lived his life to the fullest. His trademark wit was so sharp it could settle a debate, his charm would lighten any room, and his humor kept everyone laughing long after he had made his point.

Family will receive friends Sunday, October 11, 2026, 4-6pm at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, October 12, 2026, 10am at St. Jude Catholic Church, 21689 Toledo Rd, Boca Raton, FL, United States, 33433.

Professional arrangements are entrusted to: Gary Panoch Funeral Home, 6140 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton, FL 33487, 561-997-8580
