Marino A. Darpino

Born and raised in Newark, New Jersey having lived at 485 N. 11th St. during his youth. He graduated from Barringer High School in the class of 1956 and was known to be an outstanding football player. It was at Barringer High where he met his beautiful wife of 49 years Jenny (Jean )Salvo who happened to be a twirler.  Married on January 30th 1960 at Saint Frances Xavier Church in Newark NJ. They built their first home at 630 Parker Street in Newark, two children later they moved to Fairfield NJ and  spent their winters at their condo in Highland Beach, Florida.

In 1965, Marino founded Castle Home Remodeling Inc, the company is currently celebrating 60 years in business.  Marino enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid golfer by the age of 22.  One of his favorite pastimes was playing golf and cards with all the guys at North Jersey Country Club.

Marino was the loving husband of 49 years to Jean (née Salvo) until her passing March 16, 2009. Devoted father of Debra Darpino, Daniel Marino Darpino and his wife Victoria. Survived by his Sister Jean Mendola and Brother in Law Michael Salvo and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by Brother Dominick Darpino, Sisters Gloria Ferrera, Claire Tulino and Brother in law Joseph Salvo.

Marino passed away at home in Florida, his expressed wishes were to be cremated. He would like everyone who knew him to celebrate life, enjoy the memories and keep him in your heart. If you knew him, then you know he wasn't just listening, he truly cared. To his friends and neighbors in SG, thank you so much for your kindness, love and respect you showed for him.
