Maria Elena Salazar, lovingly known as “Gigi,” passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, at the age of 66.

Born in Trujillo, Peru, Gigi made her home in Boca Raton, Florida, where she was surrounded by the love of her family and touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

Gigi was a deeply loved soul whose kindness, warmth, and love for her family will never be forgotten. She was a devoted mother, a loving grandmother, and a cherished sister. She will be forever loved and remembered by her son, Jair, her grandchildren, Rowan and Robin, and her brother, Joselin.

A Message from Her Son, Jair

Mom, there are no words that can truly express how much I will miss you. You were not only my mother, but one of the most important people in my life. Your love, your presence, and the memories we shared will stay with me forever.

I will miss your voice, your smile, your hugs, your delicious cooking and simply knowing that you were there. My heart will always carry the love you gave me, and I will make sure that Rowan and Robin always know how special their “Gigita” was and how deeply she loved them.

Thank you for being my mom and for all the love and sacrifices you gave throughout your life. I wish I could have had more time with you, but I am grateful for every moment we shared.

I love you, Mom. I will miss you every day, and you will forever have a place in my heart. Until we meet again, rest peacefully.

Maria Elena Salazar, cariñosamente conocida como “Gigi”, falleció el lunes 14 de Septiembre de 2026, a la edad de 66 años.

Nacida en Trujillo, Perú, Gigi hizo de Boca Raton, Florida, su hogar, donde estuvo rodeada del amor de su familia y dejó una huella especial en todos aquellos que tuvieron la dicha de conocerla.

Gigi fue un alma profundamente amada, cuya bondad, calidez y amor por su familia jamás serán olvidados. Fue una madre dedicada, una abuela amorosa y una hermana muy querida. Su recuerdo vivirá para siempre en el corazón de su hijo, Jair, sus nietos, Rowan y Robin, y su hermano, Joselin.

Mamá, no existen palabras suficientes para expresar cuánto te voy a extrañar. No fuiste solamente mi madre, sino también una de las personas más importantes de mi vida. Tu amor, tu presencia y todos los momentos que compartimos permanecerán conmigo para siempre.

Extrañaré tu voz, tu sonrisa, tus abrazos, tu deliciosa comida y simplemente saber que estabas ahí cada vez que te necesitaba. Mi corazón llevará siempre el amor que me diste, y me aseguraré de que Rowan y Robin siempre sepan lo especial que fue su “Gigita” y cuánto los amaste.

Gracias por ser mi mamá y por todo el amor y los sacrificios que hiciste a lo largo de tu vida. Desearía haber tenido más tiempo contigo, pero estoy agradecido por cada momento que compartimos.
