Maria Hernandez de Gaviño, 85, of Boca Raton, passed away on December 6, 2016. She was born one of 12 children in Rovira, Colombia to Marco Tulio Hernandez and Pureza Guzman. She emigrated to the United States via New York where she met her husband of 50 years Henry Gaviño, Jr. They moved to Maryland where she raised three sons and was involved in many civic and religious causes. She is survived by her beloved sons Henry III, Mark, and Michael. Family will receive friends Sunday 5-8 pm at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Mon., 11:00 am at Ascension Catholic Church with a 10:30 am rosary service. Burial will follow at the Boca Raton Cemetery.
