Margaret "Mitzi" Lindberg

Margaret Lindberg, Known as Mitzi, age 96, left this world peacefully
in her Pompano Beach home, carried by love into the next chapter of
her journey.
Born in Huntington, Long Island, Mitzi spent her life building beauty
in her home, in her family, and in the countless small moments she
tended with care. She raised her children there, cooked with devotion,
and created a life full of warmth before eventually following the sun
to Florida, where the ocean breeze and quiet greens of the golf course
became part of her daily rhythm.
Mitzi lived with a spark that never faded. A spirited woman who
believed in doing things right, who poured love into every detail, and
who fed people not just with food but with her presence. Her joy was
bright, her humor sharp, her optimism unwavering. Even as her body
grew tired, her spirit stayed luminous.
She carried extraordinary strength, the kind that doesn’t shout, but
endures. When illness came, she met it with courage and stubborn
resilience, holding fast to her faith, her hope, and her fierce will
to keep going.
Now, Mitzi is reunited with her beloved husband, Walter Lindberg, and
welcomed home by her cherished dog Toby, who was her loyal companion
and source of comfort. Together, they meet her at a place of peace,
where love is whole, and nothing hurts anymore.
Her legacy continues through her children, Andrew Calderone, William
Calderone, Penny Reynolds, and Joseph Calderone. She is also survived
by her brother Billy Bertram and sister-in-law Ginny, her sister
Dorthy Duggan, nieces, nephews and her many grandchildren, who carry
her strength, her humor, and her heart forward.
Mitzi was able to remain in her own home, surrounded by tenderness,
familiarity, and the quiet holiness of being cared for by her
daughter, Penny, who loved her deeply. Her life was long, full, and
fiercely lived. She leaves behind a lineage of resilience and love,
and a reminder that the spirit does not end; it simply moves into a
gentler light. Her flame continues in every person who knew her, and
in every memory she shaped with her hands, her laughter, and her
unwavering heart.
Mitzi will be laid to rest in the columbarium with her husband, Walter
Lindberg. Details to follow for a memorial service will be held at a
later date.
