Margaret Lindberg, AKA Mitzi, age 96, left this world peacefully in her Pompano Beach home on July 27, 2026, carried by love into the next chapter of her journey. Born in Huntington, Long Island, on February 8, 1930, Margaret spent her life building beauty—in her home, in her family, and in the countless small moments she tended with care. She raised her children there, loved her job as a secretary in South Huntington Schools, cooked with devotion, and created a life full of warmth before eventually following the sun to Florida, where she embraced the beaches and her love of golf. She always said what a great life she lived. Margaret lived with a spark that never faded. A spirited woman, she believed in doing things right, poured love into every detail, and fed people not just with food but with presence. Her joy was bright, her humor sharp, and her optimism unwavering. Even as her body grew tired, her spirit stayed luminous. She carried extraordinary strength—the kind that doesn’t shout, but endures. When illness came, she met it with courage and stubborn resilience, holding fast to her faith, her hope, and her fierce will to keep going. Now, Margaret is reunited with her beloved husband, Walter Lindberg, and welcomed home by her cherished dog, Toby, who was her loyal companion and source of comfort. Together, they meet her at a place of peace, where love is whole and nothing hurts anymore.

Her legacy continues through her children—Andrew Calderone, William Calderone, Penny Reynolds, and Joseph Calderone—and through her many grandchildren who carry her strength, her humor, and her heart forward. Mitzi will be laid to rest in the columbarium with her husband, Walter Lindberg. A brief memorial service will be held at the VA national cemetery 6501 S State Road 7 Lake Worth, FL 33449.
