Biography

Laura LoCicero Armetta, age 63, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2014, after her struggles with diabetes and lung cancer. Laura was born January 20, 1951, in Sicily, the daughter of Rosario "Guido" LoCicero and Vincenza "Paola" Molino. She has joined her parents as an angel in heaven where she is free of pain and can once again enjoy "life".

Laura thoroughly enjoyed cooking, fishing, piloting small airplanes, travelling around the world, the outdoors and spending quality time with her family and friends. She learned to swim at an early age in Sicily, where she enjoyed free diving, snorkeling and scuba diving. As an only child for 10 years, she finally convinced her parents to give her a sibling, a baby sister. Laura enjoyed spending quality time with her sister Rosanna, and took great pride in helping "raise" her baby sister.

At the young age of 17, Laura made the long journey, with her parents, by ship to the United States. In November 1970, Laura married Pasquale Armetta in New York. Together they created two beautiful daughters, Elisa Armetta Schroader and Laurie Armetta. She dedicated her life to instilling great work ethic and values in her daughters. In addition to raising their two children Laura also had a profound love of Chihuahuas. She really enjoyed spending time with her beloved Chihuahua, Master Yoda. She touched the lives of everyone she met, especially with her lovely smile and infectious laugh.

Laura is survived by her husband Pasquale; her daughter Elisa and son-in-law William "Bill" Schroader; her daughter Laurie; her sister Rosanna and husband Alfio Favara; two nieces, Luana and Ramona; one nephew Francesco; and one grandniece Vittoria and one grandnephew Leonardo; and a number of other relatives and close friends near and far.

Laura requested cremation with a small private family service only. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last stages of her illness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to either: Hospice by the Sea, Inc., Attn: Fund Development, 1531 W. Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton, FL 33486; or to a local Humane Society.
