IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth Milton
Cunha
July 8, 1962 – March 25, 2020
Kenneth Milton Cunha, 57, of Boca Raton, FL, died free from the pain that haunted him, with his spouse by his side on March 25th, 2020, at Hospice by the Sea at John Knox Village in Pompano Beach, FL. Kenny was born on July 8th, 1962 to Daniel and the late Claire Cunha (Steele). He grew up in Falmouth, MA and graduated from Falmouth High School in 1980. He proudly served in U.S. Air Force, where he learned about computers. After leaving the Air Force, he remained in Tampa, FL, continuing with computers, working for Integraph, where he made many life-long friends. Remaining in the computer industry, he relocated to Deerfield Beach, on the east coast of Florida, where he enjoyed an outdoor lifestyle walking-distance to the beach, which he continued when moving to Boca Raton, FL, several years later. He worked for Oce Printing in Boca Raton, which was later purchased by Canon, from where he retired just over two years ago, due to complications of his hereditary disease, Machado-Joseph Disease (Ataxia Type 3), which made it difficult for him to speak clearly, type and walk, and later caused him significant physical pain. Kenny was known for his easy-going attitude, boyish smile, and love of cars. He enjoyed being outside, especially on a boat or a beach, watching football, especially The New England Patriots, and being with friends and family, especially while laughing and having fun. Kenny touched many lives everywhere he went. He was loved and will be missed by many. Kenny will be lovingly remembered by his beloved spouse Jenniffer Lee, his devoted daughter Kristin Nichol (and Christopher) Shaw (McPeek), his adoring grandchildren Savannah and Parker Shaw, his caring father and step-mother Daniel and Joyce Cunha (Starr), his loving siblings Robert (and Barbara) Cunha, Deborah (and Tom Cole) Kasabian, Richard Cunha, and Catherine (and John) Welch, several fond nieces and nephews, and a grandnephew. He was predeceased by his mother Claire Cunha and his sister Barbara Almeida. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, when times allow for gathering. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Kenny Cunha to Death with Dignity, by mail to 520 SW 6th Avenue, Suite 1220, Portland, OR 97204, by phone via (503) 228-4415 or online at www.deathwithdignity.org, as death was his choice due to the untreatable and unrelenting pain he habitually suffered. May his memory help others in his situation leave this world in a quicker and more dignified manner.
