Kathleen Koenig (1954–2026)

Kathleen Koenig, a longtime Deerfield Beach, Florida, resident, passed away peacefully in hospice care on February 6, 2026, at age 71.

Born on April 4th, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois.  Kathleen moved to the Sunshine State, where she attended the University of Florida. A proud Gator through and through, she earned her degree in Advertising and remained a lifelong fan, never missing a chance to cheer on her team on college football Saturdays.

Kathleen's career was defined by her charisma and a talent for connection. She spent many successful years in sales for the Yellow Pages before transitioning to jewelry sales, where her eye for beauty and warm personality truly shone.

Outside of work, Kathleen was a "legend in the kitchen." A fantastic baker and cook, she was best known for her signature Risotto and Rum cakes. For Kathleen, baking and cooking were acts of love, and nothing made her happier than sharing a homemade treat with friends and neighbors in the Deerfield Beach community she called home for over 35 years.

She is survived by her devoted sister and brother, Lynn Martin and Rob Koenig; Lynn's husband, Mike; Rob's wife, Paige; and their three children, Riley, Jackson, and Carson. She now joins her beloved parents, Connie and Bob Koenig, who preceded her in death.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 11th in the Deerfield Beach area, with specific details to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Kathleen's memory to her favorite charity, The Lou Malnati's Cancer Research Fund , to support a cause close to her heart.
