Kathleen "Kay" Casella, of Delray Beach, Florida passed away at home on June 29th, 2024 surrounded by family. Born February 2, 1942, in Brooklyn NY.  She was the daughter of Italian immigrants Sabino Bruno and Elisabetta Baldassare. She completed Drake Business School in Manhattan. Early on she held secretarial and bookkeeping positions in various corporations, but the lion share of her career was as an owner/operator of various businesses both in New Jersey and South Florida alongside her husband, Bob.

Kay wore many different hats and wore them well, Business Owner, Chef, Pastry Chef, Decorator, Personal Shopper and Ballroom Dancer. Family was very important to Kay and her cooking and baking was truly an extension of her love for them. Her recipes and amazing dinners are cherished memories for her family.

Kay had a sense of style and grace that made her a natural at Ballroom Dancing. Ballroom Dancing   came later in life, it was self-taught and brought great happiness, fulfillment and accomplishment to her. Her smile and electric blue eyes conveyed the joy she felt as you watched  her glide along the dance floor.

Kay (Mom, Grammy, Grammy Kay and Nona is lovingly remembered and will be greatly missed by her children: Cheryl Casella Rymer (Will,) Robert Casella (Summer,) her grandchildren Alexandra Thorne (John,) Matthew Casella (TaraLynn,) Lucielle, Claudia, Jake, Zander, Ethan, her Great Granddaughter Lily and Great Grandson Bryson, her sister Isabel Flannery (Dennis) and her nieces and nephews Jon, Tami, Tony and Tina,Danielle.

A memorial service in memory of Kay will be held Saturday July 20th from 8:30am -10:30am at Gary Panoch Funeral Home 6140 N Federal Highway Boca Raton FL 33487. Mass will follow at 11:00 am at Ascension Catholic 7250 N Federal Highway Boca Raton Fl 33487.
