IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joyan
Dulong
June 18, 1925 – May 23, 2012
Joyan Brooks Dulong passed away on May 23, 2012 in Lake Placid, FL. Born June 18, 1925 in Rhode Island to Olive (Dewitt) and Howard Brooks, she grew up there surrounded by a loving family. At age 21, she married and had a son. Hating the cold winters, she moved to Miami where she lived for many years. She later moved to the Bahamas and became well known in Nassau and Freeport as the most talented florist in the islands.
In the 1970's she returned to Florida and opened a very successful consignment boutique, Fanfare Consignments, in Boca Raton. Her sense of style and her knowledge of the fashion industry made her boutique successful for many years until she met and married Norman Dulong. They moved to Lake Placid, FL where they have resided happily for the past 17 years.
She is survived by her husband Norman Dulong; her son David Chiodo and his wife, Gloria; two granddaughters Brooke Chiodo and Nicole DeBickes; Nicole's husband Keith; two great grandsons, Quinn and Patrick DeBickes.
She is also survived by four stepchildren and their families: Norman Dulong and his wife, Marlo; Peter Dulong; James Dulong and Mary; Susan and John Lyons; step grandchildren Jennifer and Amanda Lyons, and Lauren, Jamie and Chelsea Dulong.
