Joseph "Joe" J. Lauri, 92, born Nov. 29, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY, to Felix and Lucy Lauri. Joe was predeceased by his beloved wife of 43 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Lauri. He is survived by his children, Joseph (Frances) and James (Laura), grandchildren; Justin (Colleen), Jonathan, Kristina (Charles) Corbett, Kathleen Lauri, brother Kenneth (Marguerite), sisters; Louise Roth and Patricia Bailey. He was predeceased by his sister Dorothy Urban. Joe served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army with the 124th Calvary. He was part of the Mars Task Force in Burma. He received the Bronze Star Medal as well as other medals and citations for his service to our country. He retired from the City of New York in 1975 and moved to Tamarac, FL with Elizabeth. Joe loved to go bowling, play cards and dance. His favorite dances were the Lindy and the Fox Trot. Family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 23, 2015 2-4 & 6-8pm with a 10am funeral Saturday, Jan. 24th at the funeral Home.
