Joseph Michael Henry, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2024, in Boca Raton, Florida.
Born on August 26, 1964, in Staten Island, New York, Joe was the son of the late Charles and Angela Henry. Joe grew up in Staten Island, receiving his education from Tottenville High School, before furthering his studies at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. Joe eventually moved to Boca Raton, Florida to join his family and begin his career. He had a passion for helping others, working tirelessly in various rehabilitation treatment centers where he made a profound impact on those he cared for as a Case Management Specialist. Throughout his career, he provided a wealth of support and services to many people at Caron Renaissance Treatment Center, Fort Lauderdale Hospital, and High Point Treatment Center. His compassion and dedication were unwavering, making him a respected figure in his field. A dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Boca Raton, Florida, Joseph's faith was a guiding light in his life. He was also a lifelong supporter of Northern Frontier Christian Camp located in the Adirondacks, where he attended as a child.
Joe's memory will forever be cherished by his sister, Colleen Stearn, his brother, Kevin Henry, nephew Connor Stearn, niece Ariana Stearn, brother-in-law Rodney Stearn, sister-in-law Mayra Henry, stepmother Susan Henry, and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. He especially enjoyed spending holidays surrounded by his family with home cooked family meals. He was predeceased by his beloved rescue dog, Rassy, with whom he shared countless cherished moments. In addition to his professional pursuits, Joe had a passion for music, trivia, reading, and chess. He deeply enjoyed intellectual challenges and his love for learning was evident in his membership in Mensa, demonstrating his sharp wit and keen mind. He also was a big fan of watching Jeopardy with his family.
A memorial service celebrating Joe's life will be held in his honor at the Gary Panoch Funeral Home in Boca Raton on December 7, 2024, with visitation from 4:00pm to 5:00pm and a service beginning at 5:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League at 3200 N. Military Trail, West Palm Beach, Florida 33409 in Joe's memory.
He will be remembered for his intellect, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family. Joe will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
Rest in peace, Joe(y). You will forever be cherished in our hearts.
