John Wayne “Hunter” Morgan
June 30, 1993 – August 14, 2026
John Wayne “Hunter” Morgan, 33, passed away unexpectedly on August 14, 2026, in Sacramento, California. He was born on June 30, 1993, in Houston, Texas, to Catherine DeGabrielle and Gary Wayne Morgan.
Hunter grew up in Houston and later divided his time between Florida and California. He attended ITT Technical Institute, where he studied Computer Technology and Computer Science, and later built a career in the solar energy industry, working in solar sales and management for nearly seven years.
Hunter had a cool, calm energy and an unmistakable personality. He was funny, sarcastic, independent, and in many ways truly lived up to the name John Wayne. He loved dubstep, the ocean, and snowboarding, and he was happiest doing the things that made him feel free.
Those who knew Hunter will remember his laid-back nature, his sense of humor, and the way he could make an impression without ever needing to be the loudest person in the room. He was unapologetically himself, and that authenticity was part of what made him so special to the people who loved him.
Hunter is survived by his mother, Catherine DeGabrielle; his father, Gary Wayne Morgan; his sister, Crystal Santamaria; and the many family members and friends whose lives he touched.
Hunter’s life ended far too soon, but the memories, laughter, music, and energy he shared with those around him will live on. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Gary Panoch Funeral Home & Cremations, 6140 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton, Florida 33487. Family and friends are invited to gather together to remember Hunter and celebrate the life he lived.
