With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to JoAnn Winer Sutton, affectionately known as "JoJo", who peacefully departed this world on April 2nd, 2024, at the age of 81. JoAnn was a beacon of love and kindness to all who knew her, and her legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched.

JoAnn was born on July 19th, 1942, in Summit, New Jersey, to Cathryn and Leo Winer. She pursued her education at Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, where she earned a degree in French, reflecting her passion for language and culture. Her adventurous spirit led her to join the Navy, where she crossed paths with her beloved husband. In 1968, JoAnn and her husband exchanged vows, marking the beginning of a remarkable 56-year journey together.

In 1976, JoAnn embraced the role of motherhood with joy and dedication, cherishing every moment as a stay-at-home mom to her only child. As her daughter grew, JoAnn embarked on a fulfilling career as an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) teacher, positively impacting the lives of countless students with her compassion and expertise.

JoAnn's warmth and generosity extended far beyond her professional life. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother to her grandsons Robby and Brandon. Her family meant everything to her, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

JoAnn will be deeply missed by her husband Larry, her daughter Christy, her grandsons Robby and Brandon, her sister Lois, her nieces Tracy and Amy, her sister-in-law Dorothy, and all those fortunate enough to have known her. Her memory will forever be cherished, her spirit forever cherished.

A funeral service to celebrate JoAnn's life will be held on Thursday, April 18th, at Ascension Catholic Church, 7250 N. Federal Hwy., Boca Raton, 33487, at 10:00 am. Following the service, friends and loved ones are invited to gather at the home of Larry Sutton to share memories and support one another during this time of remembrance.

Though JoAnn may have left this earthly realm, her spirit will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love that she so freely gave during her time on Earth.
