Joan Pakula, 93, of Boca Raton, FL, passed away on December 28th, after a long and brave battle with illness.

Joan was born in Pittsburgh, PA, in 1928, to Min and Jack Sack.  She later married Randall Pakula (deceased) and lived in Long Island, New York until retiring to Florida.  Joan is survived by her daughter Terri Pakula, her son and daughter-in-law Michael and Alba Pakula, and their children, Jacqueline and Benjamin.

Joan will be remembered lovingly for her amazing sense of humor, her practical jokes, and laughter.  She embodied a generosity of spirit and loyalty that touched many lives. As a very young woman, Joan volunteered at the Veteran's Hospital in Pittsbugh. Her appreciation of nature and love of animals were lifelong passions which she enjoyed until her very last days.

Joan's journey in this lifetime ended peacefully in her home in Boca Raton, in the loving care of her daughter, and in the company of her long-time friend Eileen Daly and her beloved pets Mitzi and Jill.
