Remembering The Life of Mrs. Iola Brown

Ms. Iola Brown affectionately known by family members as “Tiny” was born December 9, 1947 in Philadelphia, Pa. She was the second eldest of seven children born to the late Joseph and Marguerite Jones Young. On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, In her home Surrounded by family members, Iola Brown answered the call of glory and went home to be with the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Iola was educated in Philadelphia, Pa. Public School System. On January 6, 1977 she married the love of her life John E. Brown and they were married for 49 years.

Iola re-located to Boca Raton, Fl. in 1984. She worked in various job including crossing guard, community center/boys and girl club and worked at the local super market in the Bakery department were she gave free cookies to the kids; because of her life long work dealing with kids, she is well known in our community.

Faithful

Iola Brown was a loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. She took time to help when called upon. She was reliable, faithful women of her word. She made time for family members and friends/people in the community. She opened her doors if you were in distress. Overall, she was a woman who took care of her responsibilities and handled her own business. Her smile and jokes will always be remembered.

Iola was a faithful member Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Boca Raton, FL. for over 25 years where she served as a trustee for many years.

Legacy

Those left to cherish her memory are her Two Children: Micheal Young and Kenya Young Hughes;

Six Grand Children: Mikhail Young and Michyia Young; DeVante Young, Tyrique Young, Kadreanna Hughes and Nevaeh Hughes;

Two Great Children: Tyrique Young, Jr. and Kofi Morency

Six Sibling: Joseph Young, Gloria Young (preceded her in death), Deborah Young White, Dagmar Young Davidson, Vallie Young Sams, and Charlotte Young.

Godson: Clifford Allison Luther Moss, Jr.

Iola has a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.
