IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Helena
Watkinson
November 30, 1929 – October 15, 2015
Helena Ann Watkinson
Helen Watkinson, who was affectionately known by her nieces and nephews as Lena, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 15th 2015. Helen married David Watkinson in Norwood, PA in August 1954. Together they raised four daughters, beginning their family life in Folsom, Pennsylvania, and later moving to Margate, Florida where their daughters attended school. Helena was a kind and caring woman who was loved by many. She was a lifelong Miami Dolphins Fan, enjoyed watching spring baseball, playing bingo, bowling, jitterbug dancing, and was an avid walker in her later years, as she never learned to drive. Helen always made the entire room laugh with her sense of humor and joking nature. Though she will be greatly missed, we are comforted by the fact she will be reunited with her husband of 36 years.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband David Watkinson and her sisters and brothers in law, Theresa and (George) Beauchamp, Agnes and (Jimmy) Cummings and Anne and (Joe) Lafferty and Al Watkinson. Helen is survived by; daughter and son in law Barbara and Phil Colombrita of Boca Raton, FL., daughter Linda Menzies of Lighthouse Point, FL, daughter and son in law Nancy and Mark Wescott of San Francisco, CA and daughter Diane Nanke of Gainesville, FL; her grandchildren Kimberly and Adam Mann, Stephanie and Ryan Ross, David Nanke and Courtney Nanke, Natalie Wescott and Kyle Wescott; and great-grandchildren Madison Mann and Sarah Ross; her siblings Michael and (Sheila) Gray, Mary and (Bill) Vignola and sister in law Joyce Watkinson; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place on October 18th from 4-7pm at the Gary Panoch Funeral Home in Boca Raton. Funeral services will be on Monday October 19th at 10:30am, in the Chapel at the Gary Panoch Funeral Home and immediately followed by entombment at the Boca Raton Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Alzheimer's Association at alz.org.
