Geraldine
Horaitis
August 7, 1935 – June 2, 2014
Geraldine "Jeri" Horaitis, 78, of Coconut Creek, FL, passed away June 2, 2014. She is survived by her beloved husband, George of 56 years, loving daughter Gloria (Paul) Stuart, brother Thomas Nikell, and grandson Greg Stuart. Geraldine was a woman of many talents. Born and raised in Chicago, Jeri was a self-taught pianist and guitarist. After winning a television talent show at 16, she traveled as a professional singer, performing at venues including Madison Square Garden, using her professional name, "Cherokee Jeri." After leaving the stage, but always an entrepreneur, Jeri met George "Yorgo" who had moved from the Peloponnese area of Greece, while she was running her first business in downtown Chicago.
Through the years, Jeri kept herself and her family very busy, starting several additional businesses. The family eventually moved to Florida in 1979.
