George Peterson, 90, of Boca Raton, passed away on June 11, 2014. Born in Los Angeles, CA, he served in the army during WW2 prior to joining the State Department. As a Foreign Service officer, his 15 posts included countries all over the world. After retiring to Boca Raton, he served as a volunteer with various organizations. He was creative musically and was a clever and humorous writer of short stories and songs. He was an avid sports fan, and had many diverse interests including jazz music, art and politics. He was proud of his daughter Jessica's acting career, and daughter Rebecca's psychology profession. He was a devoted, loving and selfless husband and father, and will be greatly missed by his wife, Sonia, his daughters, relatives on both his and Sonia's side. Everyone who met him felt blessed to have known him and all remember him as a gentle soul - a patient, generous, kind, smart, wise, witty gentleman, and always with a song in his heart.
