Gary Lynn Turbeville, 54 passed away peacefully after a long struggle with esophageal cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Lorraine Cocca and his beloved cats; his parents, Thomas and Catherine Turbeville of Sumter, SC.; his siblings, Charlene and Scott DeLorenzi, Lorrie and Ingram Welch, Teresa and Philip Arrison, Sgt. Joel and Trish Turbeville, nephews Chaise Turbeville, Tee Welch, Andrew Arrison, and Aiden Turbeville, nieces Staci Welch, Morgan Turbeville, and Katie Welch; and great niece Layken Bradley. Gary graduated with honors from Sumter High School and Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Information and Computer Science degree with a major in Computer Science and a minor in French. He was employed by IBM and then RadiSys until he retired as a personal consultant. His favorite pastime was sailing his boat where he used his skills acquired from earning his Eagle Scout. Gary will be remembered fondly as a loving and caring son, brother, husband and friend by all who knew him.
