Frank
Walczak
January 29, 1919 – November 2, 2013
Biography
Frank Albert Walczak, 94, of Delray Beach, FL, passed away November 2, 2013. He is survived by his loving children; Ann (Jamie) Frith, Bill (Maureen) Walczak, Jane (Darcy) Cypris, grandchildren; Joel Salvo, Daniel Salvo and great-grandson Cole Anthony Salvo. Frank was predeceased by his beloved wife Josephine. Frank was a quiet man who never complained and avoided confrontations with others. He relied upon his faith to keep him going for the last 5 years since his wife, Josephine, passed away. Frank, born in Utica NY, was in the Navy when he met Josephine, who was a High School math teacher at Brockton High, MA. They married, had 3 children, Jane, Ann and William, and purchased a home in Stoneham, MA where they raised the children.
Frank attended night school and completed his Bachelor's degree in Engineering. He was employed by Raytheon Corporation as an Electronic Engineer throughout most of his career. He then became an Electronics Vocational Instructor at Lawrence High School. As a hobby, Frank operated a ham radio station in his basement in Stoneham and contacted 100 countries using Morse code. He also charted his stocks daily and attempted to beat the stock market one day.
When they retired at age 60, they purchased a condominium in Delray Beach. Until Frank was 83 years old, he and Jo lived in Stoneham, MA during the summer and in Delray Beach during the winter. They frequented the racetracks and casinos while on route between FL and MA. Frank became a grandfather in 1981 when Ann delivered Joel and in 1983 when Daniel was born.
