Esperanza Maciel McKibben
December 27, 1927 - April 25, 2025
97 years of age, died in Boca Raton, Florida, on Friday, April 25, 2025, of natural causes.
Born Esperanza Maciel Rodriguez on December 27, 1927 in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Had a distinguished 30-year career with the Mexican Government with the National Railways of Mexico — initially in Mexico City, then transferred for the remainder of her career as part of the diplomatic delegation at the Mexican Embassy in Washington, D.C. Retired at age 50, moved to Florida, married her 2nd husband, and helped raise her many grandchildren. She also had fun part time jobs in retirement. Sold real estate with her husband, who was an agent and broker; worked at a travel agency, led travel tour groups to Spanish-speaking countries; and worked with a few friends at their women's clothing boutiques. She had a very full life after her retirement.
Predeceased by her first husband, Jose Erazo, and her second husband, William McKibben, as well as her only sister, Amanda, and two brothers, Jose and Ricardo, a daughter, Ivonne, and a grandson, Geoffrey.
Survived by 1 brother, David, and 4 children, Irma, Alma, Ed, and Pat. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren all in the United States — as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews in Mexico City.
A funeral mass and a memorial service will be held at a later time.
